We are a team of guides and teachers based in the mountain village of Jubrique (Andalucia), working for the direct benefit of the local economy.
We invite you to discover a natural paradise: the idyllic Andalucian mountains and the little-known sierras of Central Spain.
These rural areas are unspoilt by tourism, and a sense of adventure and expectancy is always in the air.
Find out about the fascination of Spain with the help of Benamonarda guides (we give explanations in English, French and Spanish).
We offer a wide range of original holiday ideas, all aimed at the discovery of this unique cultural and natural region:
- guided walking in the mountains of Andalucia, Extremadura, Castile and Aragon
- nature rambles Serranía de Ronda and Sierras de Cazorla-Segura
- relaxing discovery weeks, each based in one of our favourite hotels
- historical journeys Vía de la Plata, Júcar-Duero-Mancha, Aragón-Ebro
- Classical Theatre Festival at Almagro (July); Bienal de Flamenco at Seville (September)
- Spanish/cooking/craft/Sevillanas dance courses in our mountain village, Jubrique
and... self-guided walking and multiactivity holidays for families or friends.

Jubrique, where we have been welcoming guests since 1987, is one of the 'white villages' of the Serranía de Ronda, a rugged upland area of western Andalucia, known for its hospitality, natural beauty, and rich cultural heritage.
Our picturesque little mountain village, with its whitewashed houses, curious chimneys, and maze of narrow alleys, lies in the uniquely luxuriant, wooded Genal valley, at the foot of the Sierra Bermeja.
Jubrique is an ideal site, not only to relax amid splendid scenery and become familiar with the ancient mountain traditions, but also to learn about the new spirit of Andalucia today.
The Genal Valley is situated between three marvellous Natural Parks. You will admire the beauty and variety of the landscapes, with verdant mountain plains, dark green forest, terraces and orchards, and white limestone crests against an azure sky...
Our holidays are mostly full board, though with some a few main meals are not included so that you can explore the local cuisine on your own.
They normally take place Sunday to Sunday. We shall collect you free of charge in Málaga, or another pick-up city (depending on the programme). If you prefer to drive, ask us for an itinerary.
In Jubrique you can choose between staying in a furnished house or with a host family, giving you the unique chance to sample Andalusian mountain life and enjoy the warm welcome of village families.
Your lunch will be at a restaurant or country 'venta', or sometimes a picnic, and in the evening all the group dines together, in turn at the village's 'mesón' or with one of the families.
With holidays in other areas, we stay in friendly, comfortable small hotels, in rooms with private bathrooms, and always try the most interesting regional cuisine.
