Glacier, Austria - Return to Listing

160 x 100 cm, Oil on canvas. This image was captured at sunset when purples and pinks begin to emerge on the slopes. By observing the strong shapes - my aim was to show the movement and contours of the mountain in strong directional strokes using the palette knife to emphasis sharp contrasts. Thick paint was applied in working 'wet on wet' and tonal values were used to imply scale and perspective.
