Algarve tipi and camping holidays and guest house

Come and join us in the peace and tranquillity of our eco-retreat at Monte Joao Afonso in the Algarve, the sunshine coast of Southern Portugal, and experience a truly unique holiday amidst beautiful natural surroundings. With its secluded countryside location in an area of Portugal’s protected forestry. Tipi Algarve is perfectly situated to escape the maddening crowds of summer yet is just a few minutes away from the bustling port town of Portimão and a great choice of superb local beaches.

Sit out under the stars of a moonlit Algarve evening with the soothing sound of the stream trickling past and wake refreshed to joyful birdsong and the sun filtering through the trees of our valley. Take in the scent the fresh morning air, a hint of Eucalyptus, a touch of Pine mixed with fragrant herbs and wild flowers. Maybe wander down to the ancient Olive tree nestled between our organic
vegetables (of which guests can buy and pick themselves) and relax there for a moment while you plan another new day of your holiday in the Algarve sunshine. Perhaps take a dip in the eco-friendly swimming pool (chlorine free) before strolling back to your chosen accommodation to set yourself up for the day with delicious healthy breakfast.

Quinta de Bispos

Quinta de Bispos is excellently situated on the slopes of the Caramulo mountain ridge in central Portugal and combines the quiet of a rural environment with all the services that may be expected from a quality hotel.

An important part of our ecological profile is the installation of a 310 m2 fotovoltaic solar panel producing electricity. It has a capacity of 43,200 Wp producing more than 55,000 kWh a year, which we estimate, will be enough to cover approximately 40 % of the quinta’s energy needs.

The waters from the sewers are bio-degraded in a special tank, and used for irrigation. All waste is separated, and organic waste is composted.
The great majority of the lamps (wherever possible) are energy-saving. The air-conditioning is turned off automatically when a window is opened, and the lights shut off automatically when a room is unoccupied.
