Within a short drive from Casa Rosa there is a large diversity of countryside and coastline environment, that offer splendid habitat for a very large variety of bird species.

Even in the grounds and garden of Casa Rosa, depending on the season, you can expect to see; Bee-eaters, Azure-winged Magpie, Sardinian, Subalpine & Melodious Warbler, Woodchat Shrike, Little Owl and Hoopoe who every year are around us.

A pair of Red-Necked Nightjar return every Spring, they can be heard calling every night and we often get a glimpse of them at dusk

Seven kilometres to the south lies the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve.
