Introduction: Our Farmhouse in El Burgo, Nr. Ronda, Andalucia is a sympathetic mix of restoration and new build in an olive farm nestled at the foot of Mt. Cabrilla, an area still farmed by man and mule as it has been for centuries. A beautiful setting with excellent local amenities it is ideal for peace loving people with lots of private space to enjoy clean mountain air, pure spring water which supplies the house and pool! A natural playground for kids with trees and rocky outcrops to climb, wild garden and olive groves to explore and a perfect place for a relaxing countryside break for adults. Full Description: As well as our self catering accommodation we also run a walking & bird watching holiday company – Frontier Holidays and so we can provide you with walking notes and advice for the surrounding area. We can also recommend the best places to eat and also arrange Gourmet tasting for the food lovers. The accommodation South Wing (Sleeps 4, 2 Bedrooms) Mezzanine has an open plan sitting room with views and double bedroom area. The sitting room has UK satellite TV and DVD player with selection of films for your use. There is a small library and some board games. The outside area at the front has a large furnished terrace with BBQ & views of the Sierras. At the side there is a secluded shady little patio. North Wing (Sleeps 4, 2 Bedrooms) The sitting room is equipped with satellite TV, DVD and the French doors open on to the lavender garden. There is an Entrance porch which doubles as a garden room. A well equipped large dining room and kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is a 200m walled courtyard with fountain and water channel, large shaded dining area, sand pit and toys for children.. In summer, our vegetable plot has plenty of home grown produce. Around the finca There is a newly finished sand pit corner with a fantastic marine mural. It is fenced and is a totally safe place to deposit little ones while you check the BBQ. Kids love to paddle in the stream at bottom of the land with plenty frogs, newts, fresh water snails, crayfish, kingfishers, minnows, dragonflies and mayflies to discover. At the top corner of the land there is a water deposit pool used to hold irrigation water for the olives and traditionally it was used for swimming by previous owners - very cold indeed! The village The Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park (Parque Natural Sierra de las Nieves) The summit of Torrecilla is at 1919m altitude and although close to the Mediterranean coast receives higher precipitation due to an Atlantic influence. Not far from the highest point is also the deepest in the form of the G.E.S.M cavern “Los Hoyos del Pilar”. At 1101m deep it is the third deepest such abyss in the World. (Grupo de Exploraciones Subterráneas de Málaga). The whole area is stunning and is ideal for anyone who has an interest in photography, walking, bird watching, botany or just enjoys soaking up the tranquillity of Spanish nature.
